Today's #WomenOfHopeStreet features Nina Tegu of Studio Hop!

Studio Hop is a gallery boutique born from a love for fine crafts, art, and vintage furnishings; as well as a necessity for a family-style business plan that allowed for flexibility. When Nina and Peter’s son Eli, was in the second grade, Peter, a self employed finish-carpenter was hurt in a table saw accident that left him out of work for several months. Nina, a stay at home mom, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management reacted to the situation with the idea for a store that would allow her to make her own hours. The family’s garage has always been a studio, when Peter would work on his sculpture; and a shop when he would work on cabinetry. Eli was involved from a young age in projects that would go on in the studio/shop and as a five year old with a propensity for brevity he aptly named it Studio Hop. With the store now more than just a late night concept, and with a name that speaks to the importance of family involvement and participation, the couple opened their doors on November 18, 2000 and proudly celebrated their 14th anniversary last year. Studio Hop is committed to carrying work made in America and represents over 80 Rhode Island artists.
